MAGAZINE : Researching different film magazine audiences

We researched into similar film magazines inorder to get a rough idea of what was needed for our magazine.
As we were an institution, we had to know our genre which was a drama. That was the first important step in the whole making of the magazine which enabled us to build onto it. We had to think about what a dramatic audience would like and our answer to that was realistic magazine quotes that would give an audience a vision into the film without actually watching the film. It would help to grab the attention of the reader and what them to actually go out and watch the film. For example, quotes such as “This seems like an all nighter,” were a standard everyday phrase that would have spurred the audience to read on in eagerness to find out what the film is about.
We compared a few magazine reviews and came up with a few ideas which helped us to profession our magazine.

We had to come up with a main picture for our magazine review and hence show what it was representing. Our main picture was a snap shot from the film in the second scene where the two brothers first meet. The picture helped to show that the brothers didn’t look like they were getting on as the younger brother isn’t even looking at his older brother while they are talking.
